🗺️ Europe Travel Planner
One tool, every question. Visas, stay limits, currencies, adapters, insurance, driving rules — all based on where you’re from and where you’re going.
Home › Europe Travel Planner
Most European trips cross more than one rulebook. A week in France and a week in Serbia are governed by completely different systems, and only one of them touches your Schengen allowance. The planner resolves that in one pass: pick your passport, pick your destinations, and get a single briefing covering entry status, stay limits, currencies, plug types, driving requirements and emergency numbers for every country on your route.
Coverage is 46 European destinations and 34 passport nationalities. That includes all 29 Schengen members, the EU’s two non-Schengen members, the Western Balkans, the four microstates, and the non-EU east. Free, no signup, nothing stored.

What the Briefing Covers
Four sections, generated against your specific passport and route rather than a generic country list.
| Section | What you get |
|---|---|
| Entry Requirements | Visa-free, e-visa or visa-required status per country for your passport, maximum stay per destination, which countries share your Schengen clock and which sit outside it. |
| Travel Documents | Passport validity requirements, ETIAS applicability and current status, and the insurance threshold that applies if any part of your trip needs a Schengen visa. |
| Connectivity & Power | How many adapter types your route needs, which countries fall outside EU roaming, and where eSIM coverage typically stops. |
| Practical Info | Currency per country, languages, driving side, whether an International Driving Permit is required or merely advisable, emergency numbers, and a link to the full guide for each destination. |
Where the Rules Stand in 2026
ETIAS is not live. The EU removed the previously confirmed Q4 2026 launch target in July 2026, and 2027 is now the most likely launch year. Until it launches, visa-exempt travellers need only a valid passport. When it does arrive it will cost €20 for adults aged 18 to 70, be free outside that range, and stay valid for three years. The planner flags which of your destinations will require it. Track the timeline →
The Entry/Exit System is fully operational as of April 2026. Biometric registration replaced manual passport stamping at Schengen external borders, which means your 90/180 count is now recorded automatically rather than reconstructed from ink. Miscounting used to be survivable. It isn’t any more. How EES works →
The UK ETA is live and mandatory for most visa-exempt visitors, at £20 since April 2026 and valid two years. It is entirely separate from ETIAS and from anything Schengen-related, and it must be approved before you board. If your route includes Britain, the planner surfaces it. UK ETA guide →
🛡️ Sort the medical side before you go
Nobody checks your insurance at a Schengen border if you’re visa-exempt, which is exactly why it gets skipped. SafetyWing’s Nomad Insurance covers emergency medical treatment and hospital care abroad with no long-term commitment, meets the €30,000 minimum if any part of your trip needs a Schengen visa, and can be purchased after you’ve already left home.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Europe Travel Planner actually do?
It generates one briefing for a whole multi-country trip rather than making you check each destination separately. You select your passport and your destinations, and it returns entry status per country, stay limits, which countries share your Schengen allowance, adapter and currency requirements, driving rules and emergency numbers. It covers 46 European destinations and 34 passport nationalities, and it is free with no signup.
Does the planner track how many Schengen days I have left?
No. The planner tells you which of your destinations draw from the same 90-day allowance and which sit outside it. To count actual days against specific travel dates, use the Schengen Calculator, which takes your past and planned trips and returns your remaining balance across the rolling 180-day window.
Which countries does it cover?
All 29 Schengen members, plus Ireland and Cyprus as the EU’s non-Schengen members, plus Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia in the Balkans, plus Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City, plus Georgia, Moldova, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. Forty-six destinations in total.
My passport isn’t in the list. What now?
Select “Other nationality” for the general picture, then check Europe visa requirements by passport for the specific answer. If your nationality requires a Schengen visa, the application route and document requirements are covered in the Schengen visa guide, including the €30,000 medical cover minimum every applicant must meet.
Is the information kept current?
Yes, and this matters more than usual right now. European entry rules changed substantially between 2025 and 2026: EES became fully operational in April 2026, the UK ETA fee rose to £20 the same month, and the ETIAS timeline moved from Q4 2026 to 2027. The underlying data is reviewed on a fixed cycle and after any confirmed rule change. That said, always confirm with official government sources before you book.
Is it free, and do you store what I enter?
Free, with no signup and no account. Your passport and destination selections are processed in your browser and are not saved to a server or shared. Some links on this page are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
