About Schengen Traveler

Last Updated: October 2026

Schengen Traveler is an independent guide to entry rules for travel in Europe. We explain the Schengen 90/180 rule, ETIAS, the Entry/Exit System (EES), the UK ETA and country entry requirements, and we show where each fact comes from.

Who we are

Schengen Traveler is an independent website. We are not a government site and we are not affiliated with the European Union, eu-LISA or the UK Home Office. We cannot approve, process or speed up any visa, ETIAS authorisation or UK ETA. Applications are made on the official government channels.

For anything that affects your entry, check the official source for your situation before you travel. Our pages link to those sources.

How we check facts

  • We start from official sources: the European Commission, EU law, GOV.UK and national government sites.
  • Press reports are labelled as press-reported, with the outlet and date.
  • We keep what is confirmed apart from what is expected.
  • Every page shows the date it was last updated.
  • Facts are rechecked on a schedule. Fast-moving facts, such as ETIAS and EES status, are rechecked weekly, and a daily news watch flags changes.
  • The facts our pages rely on, with their sources and check dates, are listed on the Facts Tracker.

Updates and corrections

If you find something wrong or out of date, email hello@schengentraveler.com or use the contact form. We check the official source and correct the page.

Rule changes our pages follow

  • 17 July 2025: the European Commission announced that the ETIAS fee will be EUR 20 instead of EUR 7, from when ETIAS is operational (European Commission). Our guides reflect this.
  • 1 January 2026: Bulgaria adopted the euro (European Central Bank). Our guides reflect this.
  • 10 April 2026: the Entry/Exit System became fully operational (European Commission). Our guides reflect this.

We also track these and 100+ other facts on our facts tracker.

How we make money

The site earns money from affiliate links to iVisa, SafetyWing and Nomad, and from display ads. If you buy through an affiliate link, we may earn a commission.

iVisa is a private service that charges a service fee on top of the government fee. You can always apply directly with the government.
